Nicotine Replacement Therapy
Slowly getting you off nicotine
Nicotine is HIGHLY addictive. If you try and quit the withdrawal is literally painful. It peaks at around 14 days which is why most smokers can't quit with will power alone. Your body forces you to take nicotine again. NRT or nicotine replacement therapy, gives you a dose of nicotine that is high at the start but gradually reduces as the days go by. Your body will become more and more comfortable without nicotine until you can manage without it. However, the length of time you will have to remain on patches, pouches or gums is varied. You will have to pay for it and there's no guarantee you'll stop taking them.

Talk to your doctor or contact the NHS Stop Smoking Service who can explain the process and what strengths you will need depending on your cigarette or vaping consumption.
